Deadly downpours deluge Beijing: At least 30 people died in Beijing’s northern mountainous districts, after days of heavy rainfall. An average of 166 millimeters of rain fell across the city while some areas in the north saw 543 millimeters. As of midnight Monday, more than 80,000 people had been relocated. The downpours also knocked out power to over 130 villages. Search and rescue, resettlement, and repair work are all ongoing.
