Senior Qinghai Official Prosecuted for Bribery in Poverty Alleviation Scandal

A former senior political advisor in Northwest China’s Qinghai province is being prosecuted for bribery, the latest high-ranking official to fall in a sprawling corruption probe into the region’s poverty alleviation programs.
Ma Fengsheng, a former vice chairman of the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has been charged with taking “especially huge” bribes, China’s top prosecutor announced Tuesday.
