China’s AI server market doubled in first half
China’s market for accelerated servers reached $16 billion in the first half of 2025, more than doubling year-on-year, according to a report from research firm IDC on Oct. 9. The market is projected to exceed $140 billion in 2029.
TSMC’s revenue grows
TSMC’s consolidated revenue for September was about NT$331 billion ($10.3 billion), an increase of 31.4% year-on-year but a decrease of 1.4% month-on-month, the company reported on Oct. 9. For the first nine months of the year, cumulative revenue reached about NT$2.8 trillion, up 36.4% year-on-year.

- TCL Technology Group Corp. revealed on October 9 that a subsidiary finalized the acquisition of an LCD panel production line in Guangzhou from LG Display for 11.1 billion yuan. This acquired entity was integrated into TCL's financial statements during the second quarter of 2025.

- LG Display, a South Korean firm, sold its Guangzhou-based LCD panel production line to a subsidiary of TCL Technology Group Corp. for 11.1 billion yuan. The acquisition was completed and announced on October 9, 2025.
