Japan’s relationship with China needs to be “more resilient than ever” to navigate the current international landscape, Tokyo’s ambassador to Beijing Kenji Kanasugi, said Thursday.
Speaking at the 16th Caixin Summit in Beijing, Kanasugi said that effectively managing the countries’ relationship is key to peace and prosperity in Asia. Kanasugi, a veteran diplomat with over four decades of experience who is not from the Japanese foreign ministry’s traditional “China school” of specialists, took up his post in December 2023.
