A Chinese national suspected of kidnapping and killing fellow citizens was repatriated to China on Monday, ending a week of diplomatic and law enforcement drama that included a three-hour standoff on an airport tarmac.
Shi Chunfang, 40 years old, was escorted onto a plane by Chinese and Philippine law enforcement officers on Dec. 22, according to the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines. The embassy noted that Shi is suspected of involvement in multiple serious criminal cases, including the kidnapping of Chinese citizens.
