Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his Israeli counterpart that recent military actions have derailed diplomatic progress with Iran, expressing Beijing’s opposition to strikes launched by Israel and the U.S., according to a statement released by the Chinese foreign ministry.
In a phone call Tuesday with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Wang said China has consistently advocated for resolving international disputes through dialogue. He noted that negotiations between Washington and Tehran — which Beijing has supported for years — had been achieving “notable progress” that included addressing Israel’s security concerns.
