China’s artificial intelligence talent pool is rapidly migrating toward the Yangtze River Delta and emerging regional manufacturing hubs, as the industry’s race to commercialize technology upends the dominance of traditional tech centers, according to a new report released by the Liepin Big Data Research Institute Friday.
Driven by a massive shift in hiring demand from algorithm developers to hardware engineers and liberal arts professionals, Shanghai has overtaken Beijing to become the most desired destination for AI workers in 2026, the report said.
