Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) (300750.SZ) plans to repurchase up to 40 billion yuan ($5.9 billion) of its Shenzhen-listed shares for cancellation, marking the largest single buyback in the history of the Chinese mainland’s stock market.
The battery giant plans to spend 20 billion to 40 billion yuan buying stock at up to 573 yuan a share, pending shareholder approval, according to a Friday exchange filing.
