China’s top anti-corruption watchdog has launched an investigation into Ye Jianchun, the governor of the southeastern province of Jiangxi, marking the downfall of another high-ranking official in Beijing’s ongoing graft crackdown.
Ye, who also serves as deputy chief of the provincial Communist Party committee, is suspected of serious disciplinary and legal violations, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said Thursday. The phrasing is the party’s standard euphemism for corruption.
