China Launches Yearlong Auto Safety Review Amid Intensifying EV Competition

Four Chinese government departments on Thursday launched a yearlong nationwide campaign to examine the production consistency and safety of motor vehicles.

The effort is aimed at addressing safety risks linked to intensifying competition in China’s auto market, where aggressive cost-cutting and the rapid rollout of insufficiently tested technologies have fueled growing public concern.
