China Targets Global Brands From Silk, Tea

China has issued its first national guidelines to modernize traditional industries such as silk, tea and porcelain, targeting 50 companies with annual revenue of at least 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) by 2028.
The guidelines, released on Monday by six government agencies including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), outline 20 measures to support these industries, which also encompass traditional Chinese medicine, brewing and arts and crafts.
