African electric-mobility startup Spiro is pushing Chinese electric two-wheeler manufacturers to invest in local production facilities as it aims to localize 90% of its supply chain by 2027.
The Dubai-headquartered company recently partnered with Hong Kong-listed Yadea Group Holdings Ltd. to supply customized electric motorcycles for Spiro’s network across seven African nations.
