China’s top securities regulator on Friday opened claims for whistleblower rewards tied to 17 cases, marking the first batch under a new incentive program aimed at encouraging tips on securities and futures violations.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the Ministry of Finance introduced the rules in late 2025. They raised the threshold for cases eligible for rewards to 1 million yuan ($149,300) from 100,000 yuan, increased the payout ratio to 3% of fines and confiscations from 1%, and set a maximum reward of 1 million yuan per case.
