Tencent Holdings Ltd. said Thursday that it will shut down its AI assistant QClaw, consolidating resources to bolster its flagship workplace AI agent WorkBuddy amid intensifying competition.
The move reflects a broader trend among Chinese tech giants, including Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and ByteDance Ltd., to cull overlapping projects and focus their efforts on unified AI brands to get a bigger slice of the burgeoning AI productivity tool market.
