Former Senior Party Inspector Sentenced to 12 Years for Bribery

A Chinese court has sentenced a former senior Communist Party disciplinary inspection official to 12 years in prison for taking bribes, including nearly 26 million yuan ($3.6 million) after his retirement.
A court in the eastern city of Ningbo found Xu Chuanzhi guilty on Thursday of bribery and influence peddling, according to the court’s ruling. It also fined Xu 2.5 million yuan and ordered the seizure of his ill-gotten gains.
