Chinese regulators have opened a joint investigation into reports that a brake-pedal bracket fractured during testing of a luxury electric vehicle (EV) developed by JAC Motors and Huawei, putting fresh scrutiny on vehicle-safety claims in China’s fiercely competitive auto market.
