Shanghai’s existing-home prices rose from a year earlier in September for the first time in three years, offering a tentative sign of stabilization in one of China’s biggest property markets after a prolonged downturn.
Prices of existing homes in Shanghai increased 0.8% from a year earlier and 0.5% from August, according to data released on Monday by the National Bureau of Statistics. Shanghai was the only one of 70 major Chinese cities tracked by the bureau to record a year-over-year increase in existing-home prices.
