Asia-focused private equity firm PAG is set to acquire a controlling stake in Evergrande Property Services Group Ltd., sources familiar with the matter told Caixin, advancing a sale that China Evergrande Group’s liquidators said last year had made substantial progress.

The sale is being led by Tiffany Wong and Edward Simon Middleton of Alvarez & Marsal Inc., who were appointed liquidators by a Hong Kong court in January 2024. It is expected to be a primary source of recovery for offshore creditors following the collapse of the world’s most indebted developer.
