Reform Steps May Snap Coal-Power Impasse

( Magazine) The calendar says 2010 is fast approaching, but unfinished 2008 coal and electricity price negotiations are still on the docket for China's power companies and coal suppliers.

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the government's top economic planner, has said it will not interfere with the negotiations, thus deepening the impasse.
