A trusty steed, a strong ox, a reliable wagon, a storm-savvy junk. In days gone by, these were just a few of the economically vital modes of transportation for working men and women across China.
In many rural areas today, some of these basic modalities are still in frequent use. Even on some streets in major cities, farmers from the countryside can be seen hauling vegetables to market on wagons pulled by donkeys.
