NDRC Mulls Local Electricity Price Hike

(Beijing) – On-grid and retail electricity prices in some regions may be raised with the aim of easing financial woes of coal-fired power generators, an official from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) told Caixin April 13.

The NDRC, China's top economic planning body, has no current plans for an electricity hike on nation-wide basis, given China's mounting consumer inflation, the official added on the condition of anonymity.
