CASS: Vast Income Gap Persists

(Beijing) -- China has made little headway in narrowing the wealth gap between rural and urban households and between low- and high-income groups, according to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in a report released December 19.

Although incomes for rural families are growing at a faster pace than urban households, the gap continues to widen, said the report.
