(Beijing) – Lenovo has unveiled results for its second fiscal quarter on November 8, showing strong sales that bring it closer to being the world's largest PC vendor, but also raising questions over its profit growth.

The Beijing-based company posted quarterly sales of US$ 8.7 billion, 11 percent higher than for the same period last year.

Research firm Gartner said Lenovo passed Hewlett-Packard in the third quarter with a global market share of 15.7 percent, while another researcher, IDC, ranked it a close second with 15.6 percent.
