(Beijing) --Seventeen provincial and ministerial-level officials were sacked in 2013, the first "anti-corruption year" declared by the government since President Xi Jinping took office. With venomous conviction, investigators hunted down and removed from office corrupt "flies" as well as "tigers."

Thus, the number of criminal cases filed against entrepreneurs rose sharply last year against the backdrop of a dishearteningly high degree of alleged collusion between business leaders and government officials.
