Shaanxi Tells Officials Seeking Promotion to Report Assets, Major Events

(Beijing) – Officials who want to be promoted in the northwestern province of Shaanxi have to report their assets and the important events in their lives, a recent government notice says.

The assets that must be reported include the properties owned by officials, their spouses and their children, such as homes, cars and securities. Bank loans must also be reported. The events that must be documented include marriages and trips abroad by officials or family members. Officials must also disclose the employment situations of family members.
