'One Pen' System Leads to Many Cases of Misspent Research Funding

The Ministry of Science and Technology announced on October 10 it uncovered fraud related to the funding and management of national research projects.

Li Ning, a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Pan Suiming, a specialist in sexology at Renmin University; and five other professors allegedly embezzled more than 25 million yuan worth of public funds earmarked for major science and technology projects.
