CSRC Official Detained by Party's Corruption Watchdog

(Beijing) – A securities regulator suspected of involvement in the case of a corrupt Shanxi senior official has been placed under investigation by the Communist Party's corruption watchdog, sources close to the situation say.
Li Liang, 49, chief investor protection bureau at the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), was taken away by the party's graft fighters on suspicion of “violating laws and principles," the regulator said on December 1.
