HK Police Detain 33 Protesting against Mainland Shoppers at Mall

(Hong Kong) – Hong Kong police detained 33 people protesting against mainlanders visitors on March 1 and vowed to continue clamping down on the demonstrations.
More than 400 protesters were confronting mainland visitors in front of a shopping mall in the Yuen Long District near the border with Shenzhen when the arrests were made. The episode follows similar protests at malls in the city's Tuen Mun and Sha Tin districts on February 8 and 15, events that attracted more than 200 protestors who heckled the mainlanders.
