Gov't Waiting Too Long to Raise Retirement Ages, Expert Says

(Beijing) – A recently announced central government plan for delaying retirement ages – in part to offset shortfalls in the pension system – should start earlier, an expert says.

Yin Weimin, the human resources minister, said at a press conference on March 10 for the annual session of the National People's Congress that officials are working on a plan to raise retirement ages, in part so workers can contribute more to their pension funds.
