Debt Now a Key Risk in the Emerging World

Perhaps the most ostensible of all challenges faced by the global economy is that of pervasive debt levels. For quite some time now, particularly after the global financial crisis, debt accumulation seemed to be the problem circumscribed to the developed world. Things have changed, and we are now finally coming to the realization that emerging markets are following suit. Even though these economies are at an earlier stage of the leveraging cycle, the speed at which they are accumulating debt is outstanding, in many cases faster than it has been in the developed world.
