Didi-Kuaidi Firm Gets License from Shanghai Transport Officials

(Beijing) – The firm running the popular car-hire mobile application Didi-Kuaidi has become the first firm of its kind to operate legally in China after receiving a license from transport authorities in Shanghai.

In announcing the decision at a forum in Shanghai on October 8, Sun Jianping, director of Shanghai's transport commission, said that the government encourages creative business models as long as they are safe. Other companies can apply for a similar license, he said.
