Four-Fifths of Medical School Graduates 'Don't Become Doctors'

(Beijing) – Nearly four-fifths of China's medical school graduates do not become doctors because they are not given an opportunity to advance their careers, a professor of health care policy says.
Professor Cai Jiangnan, of the China Europe International Business School campus in Shanghai, said government statistics show that around 2.9 million students graduated from medical schools from 2008 to 2013, but only 590,000 of them chose to become doctors.
