Out of the 1.4 million people who registered for this year’s National Public Servant Exam, roughly a third gave up.
However, there are still a total of 920,000 people competing for the 14,500 positions available with the annual test, which took place on Sunday.
The odds are just as competitive as in years past: Only one out of every 63 candidates is expected to get a government job for the year 2019.
Last year, a total of 1.7 million people registered for the exam, with 520,000 dropping out, according to official figures.
