Inactivated Covid-19 Vaccines May Contaminate Inoculation Sites, China Study Says

What’s new: Inactivated Covid-19 vaccines may contaminate people and the surrounding area during the inoculation process, which could induce false positive test results and inaccuracies in the virus detection system, but no new infections, according to a study published on the website of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC).
Procedures such as opening the vaccine bottle, extracting the liquid, and administering the shot may cause droplets or aerosols of the vaccine to leak out, thereby contaminating the surrounding area and staff, leading to false positive test results, said the study which was published Thursday.
