Chinese Provincial Official Gets Life in Prison for Graft

What’s new: A court on Tuesday sentenced Song Liang, former vice governor of Northwest China’s Gansu province, to life in prison for taking bribes worth nearly 80 million yuan ($11.6 million).
Song was also stripped of political rights for life and had all his personal property confiscated and his illegal gains turned over to the state treasury, the Intermediate People’s Court of the southwestern city of Leshan said in a statement (link in Chinese) published the same day.
