At COP27, China urges developed countries to ‘make pie bigger’ for climate finance
China’s climate envoy Xie Zhenhua urged developed countries to fulfill their promises and “make the pie bigger” on climate finance, during a high-level forum on South-South cooperation at COP27. Xie also said China kept helping developing countries — the principal victims of climate change — to improve their climate adaptation capabilities. Identifying itself as a developing nation and a major responsible country, China is relatively active in practicing South-South cooperation on climate change, stressing the principle of “climate justice” and “common but differentiated responsibilities.”
