Ex-Provincial Official Gets Life for Bribery and Aiding Crypto Mining

A former municipal party chief in East China’s Jiangxi province has been sentenced to life in prison for wrongdoing including taking more than 125 million yuan ($17.4 million) in bribes and illegally aiding cryptocurrency miners, according to a court statement.
The Hangzhou Intermediate People’s Court handed down the sentence to Xiao Yi for bribery and abuse of power on Tuesday.
