Former Bank of China Ltd. Chairman Liu Liange has pleaded guilty to soliciting and accepting more than 121 million yuan ($16.7 million) in bribes over 13 years, a local court said.

Liu was charged with taking bribes in exchange for helping companies and individuals with matters such as securing loans, jobs and project contracts from 2010 to 2023, according to a Wednesday statement from the Jinan Intermediate People’s Court in East China’s Shandong province, which heard the case that day.
