In January, Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. (吉利汽车) sold over 213,000 cars, surpassing electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer BYD Co. Ltd. to become China’s top carmaker by sales. A one-month lead is no guarantee of success for the whole year, but for Geely Auto, which has trailed BYD for the last two years, the result is worth celebrating.
