Ex-Education Vice Minister Targeted in Corruption Probe

What’s new: A former Chinese vice minister of education is being investigated by the country’s top anti-corruption agencies, becoming the highest-level official in the sphere to be targeted since 2012.
Du Yubo, who was also the Ministry of Education’s deputy party chief from 2010 to 2016, has been accused of “serious violations of discipline and law,” according to a Wednesday statement from the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. The phrase is a common euphemism for corruption.
