CX Briefing: ‘New Three’ Exports Keep Growing
Listen to the full version

A rundown of the news making headlines in and around China:
‘New three’ exports: China’s lithium battery exports continued to rise in June, joining solar cells and new electric vehicles (NEV) in achieving another month of growth, at least in terms of volume. Chinese lithium-ion battery exports shot up nearly 30% year-on-year to $6.6 billion, as the volume shipped grew by nearly 18%. It was a different story for the other two products China touts as the “new three” drivers of its transformation into a modern export powerhouse. Solar cell shipments rose more than 45% year-on-year in June, but the value of those exports was down by nearly a quarter from the previous year. Passenger NEV exports nearly doubled in volume year-on-year, while the value of those sales rose at a less brisk pace of 71%.
