Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) saw its third-quarter net profit jump 41.2% year-on-year to 18.5 billion yuan ($2.6 billion), as the world’s largest battery-maker continues to ride a wave of strong demand for electric vehicles (EVs).
The Hong Kong- and Shenzhen-listed giant’s revenue for the quarter grew 12.9% to 104.2 billion yuan, according to its earnings report released Monday. Its net profit margin climbed to 19.1%, an increase of 4.1 percentage points from the same period last year.
