Senior Xizang Legislator Placed Under Corruption Probe

A senior legislator in China’s Xizang autonomous region who spent her entire 43-year career in the Himalayan region has been placed under investigation, becoming the latest target of Beijing’s grinding anti-corruption campaign.
Wang Jun, vice chair of the standing committee of the Xizang People’s Congress, is suspected of “serious violations of discipline and law,” a euphemism typically used for corruption, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said in a statement on Wednesday.
