The European Union has launched an in-depth investigation into Goldwind Science & Technology Co. Ltd., the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturer, over alleged foreign subsidies, prompting a swift response from Beijing.
Announced by the European Commission on Tuesday, this probe marks the first time the EU has initiated a dedicated in-depth inquiry into a single Chinese wind power company under its Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR). The investigation reflects growing scrutiny of Chinese green technology exports to Europe, following similar probes in the rail and solar sectors.
