China’s Former Top Railway Regulator Indicted on Bribery Charges

The former head of China’s national railway regulator has been indicted on charges of accepting an “especially huge” amount of bribes, becoming the latest senior official swept up in Beijing’s unrelenting anti-corruption campaign.
Fei Dongbin, former chief of the National Railway Administration, will stand trial in the northeastern city of Changchun. China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate announced Monday that the National Supervisory Commission had concluded its investigation and handed the case over to prosecutors. The top prosecutorial body formally approved Fei’s arrest and designated the Changchun Municipal People’s Procuratorate to handle the prosecution, which was recently filed with the Changchun Intermediate People’s Court.
