China’s top anti-graft agency announced Sunday that it is investigating Ouyang Weimin, a former president of the China Development Bank (CDB), ending months of speculation about the prominent financial veteran’s fate.

The 63-year-old retired in 2023 from the CDB, China’s largest policy bank by assets.

He is the seventh senior leader from the bank to be ensnared in recent years, highlighting the ongoing scrutiny of the lender amid Beijing’s yearslong campaign to root out financial graft.
