China’s top legislature on Friday removed two senior military commanders from their state defense posts, months after they came under investigation as part of a broader anti-graft campaign in the armed forces.

The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress dismissed Zhang Youxia as vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and Liu Zhenli as a commission member, according to state media. It also removed both men as deputies to the National People’s Congress, along with two other former senior officers, Zhong Shaojun and Ju Qiansheng.
