Chinese Fugitives Allegedly Faked Jewish Ancestry to Gain German Citizenship

(London) — Three Chinese fugitives in criminal cases allegedly obtained German citizenship by claiming to be descendants of a Jewish family persecuted by the Nazis, according to an investigation by German weekly Der Spiegel.

The three men — Tian Chunming from China’s Jiangsu province, Liu Hanwen from Shandong province and Jie Yang from Anhui province — are not biologically related. Yet they allegedly presented themselves as three brothers from a Jewish family, under the names Brook Sun Wong, Derrick Wong and Leo Wong.
