Former Education Vice Minister Investigated as Graft Probe Deepens

China’s top anticorruption agency said Monday that Lu Xin, a former vice minister of education, is under investigation for suspected serious violations of Communist Party discipline and Chinese law, expanding a campaign that has ensnared senior officials across the country’s education system.

Lu, 71, served as vice minister of education from 2009 to 2015 and has led the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education since late 2018. Her case is the 52nd investigation of an official directly managed by the Communist Party’s central authorities announced by the watchdog this year.
