China's Passport Selfies Service Hits a Snag

(Beijing) – Police in three cities in southern China have put the kibosh on an app service that lets users upload selfies for use on official documents requiring photos, including passports.

The Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Foshan police departments barred all official use of digital photos transferred through the Xingfu app service just two days after its launch March 25.
